Permanent Jewelry
-
A little sparkle, made to stay.
Riley & Madden offers permanent bracelets, rings & anklets. These adornments are created from dainty chain that is custom fit and welded closed. Since the chain is clasp-less, it will “permanently” stay on until you decide to remove it.
We offer solid 14k gold, 14k gold-filled and sterling silver chain options, as well as charms. Permanent jewelry is a unique way to mark a special occasion, honor a commitment, or simply add a little sparkle to your everyday life.

FAQS
-
Because life happens! If your Riley & Madden permanent jewelry breaks, save your chain and bring it back to us. Complimentary rewelds are included for the lifetime of your piece. If the chain itself has been damaged beyond a simple reweld, we'll take a look and walk you through your options.
-
Permanent doesn’t have to mean forever. If you need to remove your jewelry for any reason, simply snip the small jump ring connecting the chain with a nail clipper and save your chain.
When you’re ready to wear it again, book a re weld appointment and we’ll happily put it back on for you. Prefer to keep it removable? We can also add a clasp so you can take your piece on and off whenever you’d like.
-
Solid 14k gold is gold throughout, so the gold will not wear or chip away over time.
14k gold-filled is a more affordable alternative to solid gold. A substantial layer of 14k gold is permanently bonded to a brassl core, making it much more durable than traditional gold plating and a great choice for everyday wear.
Sterling silver is a great option if you prefer a white-metal look.
-
Yes! Your permanent jewelry is designed to live life with you. You can shower, swim, sleep and exercise while wearing it.
As with any jewelry, exposure to hard water, chemicals, lotions and certain products can increase tarnishing and affect the appearance of your jewelry over time. But there’s no need to worry—tarnish is simply surface-level oxidation and can easily be removed with a polishing cloth.
-
Probably! Let me teach you why that is completely normal.
Let’s clear up one of the biggest jewelry misconceptions: if your jewelry tarnishes, it must be fake or poor quality. Not true!
Tarnish is simply surface-level oxidation that can be polished away to reveal your origin metal underneath. Sterling silver and karat gold are alloyed with copper. Copper tarnishes. The amount of tarnish you experience can vary depending on your individual body chemistry, hard water, chemicals, lotions and other environmental factors.
Where the confusion often comes in is that many of us associate discoloration with inexpensive plated jewelry—the gold wears away, the base metal is exposed, and we assume that any jewelry that changes color must be “fake.” But that isn’t the same thing as tarnish.
The important distinction is that tarnish is not the same thing as plating wearing off. Tarnish can be polished away to reveal the origin metal underneath. With gold-plated jewelry, however, the gold is only a thin surface layer. As that plating wears away, the base metal underneath becomes exposed and you can never get back to your origin metal because it is gone.
That’s the main reason we don’t use gold-plated chains for permanent jewelry. We offer sterling silver, 14k gold-filled and solid 14k gold, which can be properly cleaned and polished as needed.
-
Absolutely! Your permanent jewelry can grow and change right along with you. Add a connector to mark a milestone, celebrate something special, or simply because you found one you love.
Book a re weld appointment and we’ll help you find the perfect addition to your piece.
